I started where you probably are.

Gym clothes that stank after one wear. Towels that stopped absorbing. Whites that yellowed in months. I tried everything on the shelf. The conventional detergents cleaned, but they came with shortcuts I didn't need. The plant-based or "non-toxic" ones dropped the shortcuts and the cleaning power with it. Nothing actually solved the problem.

The more I thought about it, the less I was willing to let it go. These are the things closest to the people I care about. My wife's clothes are on her skin all day. My kids' pajamas are on them all night. I didn't want fragrance-masked. I didn't want brightened to look right under certain light. I didn't want simple formulas without real laundry chemistry. I wanted a real clean. Clean enough that I didn't have to wonder.

So I started reading. Then I started learning surfactant science, enzyme biochemistry, and chelation & anti-redeposition chemistry. I learned why towels stop absorbing (quat coatings), why whites yellow over time (body oil and sebum your detergent leaves behind), why darks fade and look dull (optical brighteners depositing UV-reactive coatings on fabric that was never meant to glow), why odor comes back hours after washing (biofilm your detergent never touched, re-blooming the moment moisture or heat returns). I learned that the plant-based and "non-toxic" brands removed the problematic ingredients but never matched the cleaning performance. Two sides of the shelf. Two different kinds of failure. Both assume you're not capable of understanding the difference.

Then I stopped buying and started building from first principles.

The Reddit laundry community found the Enzyme Booster first.

They pushed us, told us what worked and what didn't, and what could be better. That community is still the foundation. They shape what we build next. When your first customers hold you accountable to the chemistry, you can't hide behind marketing. You have to show your work.

That's what FEBU is.

Every ingredient has a named function. If a product has a limitation, we tell you. We don't use fragrance to make you think something is clean when it isn't. We don't use brighteners to fake results you can't verify.

We built FEBU for the trickiest loads. Body odor that won't quit. Towels that lost absorbency years ago. Elderly care fabrics. Kids' clothes that need to be genuinely clean. Every product passes one test before it ships: does the chemistry require this to exist, and does it do something nothing else on the shelf can do?

Performance, sustainability, and safety were never in conflict. The industry just hasn't put them together for you before. We think laundry is worth doing right. If you're here, you probably do too.
